Cabatuan stabbing hurts two

ILOILO – Two men were taken to the Ramon Tabiana Memorial District Hospital following a stabbing incident in a wake in Barangay Jelicuon Lusaya, Cabatuan.

Police identified the victims as alias “Ric,” a resident of Barangay Nanga, Guimbal town, and Barangay Jelicuon Lusaya tanod “Jef.”

An investigation of the Cabatuan police revealed that the victims and the suspect alias “Fredo,” a resident of the barangay, were playing cards around 11 p.m. on Monday, May 6.

A misunderstanding later prompted Fredo to stab Ric on the right part of his body.

Jef tried to parry the suspect’s knife but he was hit on his left hand, police added.

The suspect immediately fled but was later arrested in a police hot pursuit operation.

He was detained at the custodial facility of the Cabatuan MPS./PN
