ILOILO City – A 20-year-old taxi driver returned a laptop and checks that his passenger inadvertently left in his taxi.
Earl Depaclayon was an Engineering college student but drove a taxi to support his family. He earned profuse praises from – and the gratitude of – his passenger Vincent Yrenaya.
Yrenaya hurriedly left Depaclayon’s taxi Thursday last week in Barangay Ortiz, City Proper. He immediately sought help at the barangay hall upon realizing having left his laptop and checks in the taxi.
But before barangay officials could take action, Yrenaya managed to contact and find Yrenaya.
Last month, Depaclayon also returned a cell phone that a passenger left in his taxi.
“If I’m in my passengers’ shoes, I would be upset, too,” he said./PN
