ANTIQUE – For her third consecutive term, Gov. Rhodora Cadiao bared what she intended to do, during her inaugural speech yesterday morning at the Evelio B. Javier Freedom Park in the capital town of San Jose.
“I cannot afford to disappoint the huge majority of you who wanted me back in office for my last term, nor can I disappoint the minority who felt I could do better,” said Cadiao after taking her oath before Sen. Loren Legarda.
Cadiao wanted to sustain the programs she had started and do more, she said, such as the following:
* Kabalaka sa Kamal-aman
* Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation
* pension for sacada workers
* livelihood assistance (sari-sari stores) for overseas Filipino workers opting to return to Antique and stay for good
* increase student benefits or assistance to provincial government scholars from P5,000 per semester to P6,000 per semester
Cadiao got 217,254 votes in the May 9 polls.
“Salamat gid sa inyo pagsarig kag pagpalangga,” said Cadiao.
The governor wanted to start this year the construction of a new provincial capitol in Barangay Supa, San Jose.
She also envisioned better evacuation centers and health/medical facilities.
“I want to leave Antique with a legacy that our kasimanwas’ lives have improved and have changed for the better,” said Cadiao.

Antonio Agapito Legarda, new set of Sangguniang Panlalawigan members, municipal officials of Tobias Fornier, Hamtic, Sibalom, San Remigio, Valderrama, Belison, and San Jose de Buenavista.
