SAN JOSE, Antique – Gov. Rhodora Cadiao said President Rodrigo Duterte gave Filipinos hope that the victory against the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) will be achieved.

The public, including Antiqueños, were eager to hear about what the President would say about the pandemic and its possible cure during his 5th State-of-the-Nation Address (SONA).

President Duterte shared during his SONA delivered at the House of Representatives in Quezon City that he talked with President Xi Jinping of China recently to allow the Philippines to be the one of the first to receive the vaccine against the virus if they happen to develop one.
Cadiao also agreed with the President’s view that the reopening of businesses should not be hastened.

The role of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases remains crucial in the battle against the virus.

According to Cadiao, the continuing success of this province against COVID-19 is due to the cooperation of the mayors of the 18 municipalities.

Based on the report of the Integrated Provincial Health Office, Antique has four active cases of COVID-19 – three in San Remigio and one in this capital town. (With a report from PNA/PN)
