Cadiao: Penalize people discriminating Antique frontliners

CADIAO

SAN JOSE, Antique – Under guidelines of the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) implemented in this province, there will be penalties to people who will discriminate healthcare workers and other essential frontliners fighting the spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Gov. Rhodora Cadiao signed Executive Order No. 40 on April 13, which extends Antique’s ECQ until the end of this month.

“Words are fruitless to thank our doctors, nurses, other healthcare providers, the men in uniform, the members of the media, and others in the front line for their heroic deeds, along with our officials in the local government units and their constituents for their remarkable spirit of cooperation in their collective cause against COVID-19,” her EO said.

Cadiao – previously received complaints of discrimination – said that anyone discriminating health workers and frontliners shall be penalized based on applicable laws.
Antiqueños are strongly encouraged to report any form of discrimination against all frontliners to authorities for appropriate action./(With a report from PNA/PN)
