SUPERVISING Ecosystem Management Specialist Mamad T. Gandarosa, Jr. has been given the assignment as the Community Environment and Natural Resources (CENR) Officer for Cadiz City in the province of Negros Occidental.
The simple turn-over ceremony was quiet a momentous one, with both the outgoing and the incoming officers wearing bright smiles on their faces. Outgoing CENR Officer Rally L. Cagayanan has left the public service with a heart full of gratitude, after more than three decades spent as a government employee.
The symbolic key of responsibility was turned over by Cagayanan to Gandarosa last June 30, 2020 at CENR Office in Cadiz City, and was witnessed by two senior officials ā Negros Occidental PENR Officer Edgardo M. Rostata and DENR 6 Assistant Regional Director for Technical Services Livino B. Duran.
In his parting message, Cagayanan thanked all DENR officials and employeesfor their support and tribute given to him during the Officeās adaptation of Salamat, Mabuhay! Program which recognizes the retireesā contribution and dedication in support to the DENRās mandate.
Prior to his retirement, CENRO Rally has spearheaded the ground investigation of a reported ENR laws violation in the midst of COVID-19 crisis. āIn the call of duty, I defy the protocol set forth during the imposition of ECQ on travel ban and for the senior citizen to get out, in order for me to address the prevailing problem and for the purpose of data gathering,ā he recounted. Such is the fervor for public service Cagayanan is known for. Oftentimes, he would give up holidays and family affairs needing his presence to accomplish the tasks expected of him as a CENRO.
Cagayanan would always āwalk his talkā by treating both CENRO clients and employees fairly, regardless of their social stature and education, even setting aside his personal interests to properly discharge his duties and responsibilities.
A younger leader in the person of Mamad Gandarosa, Jr. now lies the leadership of CENRO Cadiz City whose area of responsibility covers five cities and three municipalities in the northern part of Negros Occidental.
āAs the new head of CENROāCadiz, I will take full responsibility of this office, because I know that along with me are the competent employees of DENR. Iām anticipating the support coming from the sections chiefs and rank and file employees to continue to do hard work and will deliver the outputs on time or ahead of time,ā said Gandarosa.
The ceremony was officiated by OIC Provincial Environment and Natural Resources (PENR) Officer Edgardo M. Rostata and Assistant Regional Director for Technical Services Livino B. Duran with the presence of OIC CENR Officer Joan Nathaniel Gerangaya of CENRO Bago City, OIC CENR Officer RosievelDimatulac of CENRO Kabankalan City and CENRO Bago City, Cadiz City, Kabankalan City and PENRO Negros Occidental personnel.
āDespite the threat of COVID-19 pandemic, we implement the necessary changes to continue with our public service especially in these trying times where our efforts are needed. CENRO Cadiz City shall continue to work hard towards a sustainable future of the region,ā said regional executive director Francisco E. Milla, Jr.(DENR6)
