BACOLOD City – With the declining number of active coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases in Negros Occidental, the district hospital in Cadiz City converted into a COVID-19 center may soon resume its normal operation.
Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said the 150-bed hospital had been tasked to serve only COVID-19 patients since last year.
As of Feb. 4, the hospital had only three active COVID-19 cases.
According to Diaz, the provincial government is now finalizing the transition of district hospital. Its annex is currently in the works and could be utilized as another COVID-19 treatment facility in case of a sudden surge of infections.
Diaz underscored the importance of the district hospital as this primarily serves patients from the 2nd District of Negros Occidental./PN
