Cadiz enhances barangay emergency response

BACOLOD City – Cadiz City in Negros Occidental has upgraded its barangay disaster and emergency response capabilities by distributing state-of-the-art ambulances to seven local barangays.

The initiative, part of a broader effort to equip all 22 villages within the city, involves an investment exceeding P6 million.

The latest recipients of these advanced disaster-response vehicles are Barangays VF Gustilo, Celestino Villacin, Zone 1, Zone 2, Zone 3, Zone 4, and Zone 6.

Mayor Salvador Escalante, Jr., emphasized the transformative impact these vehicles would have on local emergency services, marking a significant improvement from previous reliance on tricycles for urgent transport needs.

“Before, we only had tricycles for emergencies; now, we provide the best and most convenient facilities to transport patients or any victims of disasters in our barangays,” said Escalante.

He highlighted that the new ambulances represent not only an upgrade in equipment but also a shift towards a more proactive approach in public service, particularly in handling emergency situations.

Mayor Escalante also noted the importance of being prepared for various types of disasters, whether natural or man-made, underscoring that the enhanced emergency services are designed for the well-being and convenience of the Cadiz populace.

“These vehicles will be a constant reminder to the people of Cadiz that their city government stands with them in times of disaster or emergency,” he added./PN
