BACOLOD City – A 59-year-old man landed in jail after allegedly killing his nephew in Barangay Caduhaan, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental.
Resident Eduardo Bonifacio was taken to the Cadiz City police station.
He was accused of beating Warren Donguines to death using a piece of wood, a police report showed.
According to police investigators, the incident happened around 11:45 p.m. on May 8.
Donguines was reportedly trying to pacify his two inebriated cousins Reynald and Elmer Bonicafio. Eduardo saw the commotion and this prompted him to attack the victim, the investigators added.
Donguines was rushed to the Cadiz District Hospital where the attending physician declared him “dead on arrival.”
The suspect initially fled after the incident but eventually turned himself in to authorities.
He was now detained and charged./PN
