BACOLOD City – A suspect in the murder of a resident of Cadiz City, Negros Occidental denied committing the crime.
Leonard Benitez and stepson (not son, as previously reported) Eugie “Cokic” Navales Comad were accused of killing Alexander Enriquez of Barangay Zone 2, Cadiz City and burying him in their apartment’s backyard on Feb. 18.
Murder charges were filed against the suspects in court on Tuesday.
Benitez, a parolee and homicide suspect, and Comad were arrested in Barangay Granada here on Monday.
Cadiz City police chief Edel Jose Manzano said Benitez denied that he and his stepson had anything to do with the murder.
Instead, Benitez tagged Junemar “Dondon” Arcolas to the crime.
Arcolas denied this. He told the police he was not there when the crime happened. His sister, Maricel Arcolas-Villalva, corroborated his claim.
Comad also refuted Benitez’s claim against Arcolas./PN
