BACOLOD City – Five murder suspects were caught in Bayawan City, Negros Occidental. They were turned over to the Cadiz City police station on Jan. 4.

Officers from Bayawan City police station led by Chief Inspector Michael Aydo first caught the 33-year-old Robert Cordero while he was in a gasoline station on Dec. 31.

A follow-up operation caught in their house the other Corderos including the 65-year-old Samson and sons Diosdado, 44, and Julius, 33.

Diosdado’s son Joshua was also arrested, police said.

The Corderos were suspects in killing Carlito Veloso of Hacienda Pepita, Barangay Andres Bonifacio, Cadiz City in 2015.

Judge Raymond Joseph Javier of the Regional Trial Court Branch 60 in Cadiz City issued the Corderos a warrant of arrest.

No bail bond was recommended for their temporary liberty.

Samson denied the accusation, said the police. He added that he didn’t know about Veloso’s death.

The Corderos was currently detained at the Cadiz City police station lockup facility.

Cadiz City police head Chief Inspector Rocky Desear said they were waiting for the court’s order to transfer the Corderos under the custody of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology./PN
