Calatrava family feud turns bloody

BACOLOD City– A commotion due to family feud left four persons wounded in Crossing Lumboy, Barangay Bantayanon, Calatrava, Negros Occidental.

The heated argument between the Ugdamin and Inim families ensued aroudn11:30 p.m. on Thursday, a police report showed.

The 38-year-old Jolito Ugdamin and 30-year-old Jelmar Inim brawled when the latter’s 58-year-old father Jouso intervened.

Jouso stabbed Jolito, the report stated.

The 58-year-old Juanita Ugdamin, mother of Jolito, pacified the two but was also stabbed by Jouso.

Juanita sustained stab wounds on her right hip.

On the other hand, her husband Ignacio shot the Inims with a .38-caliber revolver, hitting their shoulders.

The stabbing victims – Jolito and Juanita – were brought to the Calatrava District Hospital for medical treatment.

Jolito was later transferred to the Escalante District Hospital.

Jouso and Jelmar, meanwhile, were brought to the San Carlos City Hospital.

Police recovered the revolver from Ignacio, who was arrested and detained in the Calatrava police station custodial facility./PN
