BACOLOD City – A man was shot fatally by unidentified suspects in Sitio Paraiso in Barangay Minautok, Calatrava, Negros Occidental.
The 23-year-old Mark Baytan sustained multiple gunshot wounds on the body and died on the spot, a police report showed.
Initial investigation revealed Baytan was harvesting sugarcane around 9 a.m. on Sept. 22 when the two gunmen without apparent reason fired at him repeatedly.
The suspects reportedly shouted “yes, nakuha najud ka namo Pilo!” while fleeing to unknown direction.
Recovered from the crime scene were fired bullets of an alleged .45-caliber pistol.
As of this writing, officers of the Calatra police station have yet to identify the suspects and the motive in the incident. Investigating is ongoing./PN
