ILOILO – A 37-year-old man was mauled in Barangay Camalonggo, Calinog, Iloilo around 2 a.m. on Friday, May 12.
Victim Jesmark Gonzales Francilisao, a driver, had a laceration to his left face.
The suspects were Ernesto Gene Jr., 45, and James Carcillar, 24.
All are residents of said place.
Police Major Myles Dieron, chief of the Calinog Municipal Police Station (MPS), said in an interview with Panay News that the three were inebriated after celebrating the village fiesta.
“Indi lang siling naka inum lang sila kundi hubog gid, kilalahay man ini sila tanan pero daw may mga pagbinais-bais sila asta nga naglab-ot sa commotion kag nalampusan sang botelya ang aton nga biktima,” added Dieron.
The victim was rushed to the Calinog District Hospital but was later transferred to the Western Visayas Medical Center in Mandurriao, Iloilo City.
The suspects are currently in the custody of the Calinog MPS.
As of this writing, the police are waiting for the decision of the victim’s family on whether they will press charges./PN
