ANTIQUE – The local government unit (LGU) of Caluya will extend financial assistance to families of the seven missing persons onboard the two motor bancas that capsized between the coasts of Boracay Island and Caluya town in Antique amid inclement weather on August 26.
The seven are workers for a firm that secured the contract for the solar power installation in the municipal hall.
Mayor Regil Kent Lim said on Monday, October 7, that their local finance committee and the municipal social welfare and development officer are studying how much the LGU could provide.
“The seven individuals who were passengers of the motor bancas that capsized have been contracted for our municipal hall,” he said.
Vic Florencio, Roel Dellero, Joseph Dellerro, Frankie Gajero, Sauro Dellero, and Zaldy Pases, all from Bicol; and Christian Aguilar from Taguig, remained missing.
Caluya also extended aid to 10 rescued passengers.
“I appeal to the residents in the islets of Caluya to inform us if ever they could see a body so we could immediately retrieve it,” he said. (PNA)
