SHE may play Driezella, one of Cinderella’s evil stepsisters in the upcoming stage play of Iloilo Prima Galaw (IPG), but her character is far from her true personality. Unlike, Driezella, this talented young girl is kind, sweet, caring, and sensitive.
Arielle Yvette Asiman or Yeye to her close friends and family has the makings of being a great stage actress. At such a young age, she has already played different characters including being a mermaid in “The Little Mermaid” and Ningning in “Ang Sistema ni Propesor Tuko,” both produced by IPG.
Her achievement however, doesn’t end there. At 12 years old, Yeye has also achieved many feats not only in terms of co-curricular activities, but also in her academics. As a matter of fact, she ranked sixth in her class last school year at the Philippine-American Progress School, Inc. and still able to maintain her good grades even now.
She loves doing arts, playing sports and solving math, but above all, she loves performing onstage. Being a performer, her ultimate goal is to perform inside the halls of the Cultural Center of the Philippines.
Being with IPG for two years now, Yeye has managed to learn to become responsible, be sensitive and always putting one’s foot forward.
Moreover, she has also learned the value of time as well as friendship seeing as she was able to manage her time between school, family, friends, and the production.
Yeye believes in the saying, “Do the things others say you cannot do.” Thus, when asked about her advice to fellow young individuals who wish to be like her, she said to not give up easily on their dreams while serving as an inspiration to others.
Anastasia plays the other half of Cinderella’s evil stepsister. She may play the greedy, impatient and hard-hearted character, but Anastasia is totally far-fetched seeing as she is friendly, nice and patient.
Twelve-year old Janna Grace Yson is not new in stage plays. As a matter of fact, in her two years stay as an artist of Iloilo Prima Galaw, she has already played the roles of Bu Doi is “Miss Saigon,” Flounder and Artisa in “The Little Mermaid” and Kikay in “Ang Sistema ni Propesor Tuko.” With her extraordinary talent in the craft, it is no wonder why this charming young woman got one of the most difficult roles in “Cinderella.”
Aside from her exquisite talent in stage acting, Janna has been tagged as one of the most outstanding students of her school at the University of Iloilo-Phinma Education Network (UI-PEN). She even ranked first when she was in Grade 5 and still managed to be on top despite a busy schedule.
Being a member of IPG, Janna learned to be always prepared, cherish every moment she has and give her best in everything that she does. She added that IPG changed her for the better as she learned the value of being humble, patient and friendly. The production also taught and motivated her to do more and exceed her limits in order to perform the tasks given to her in the best way possible.
When asked for a message to her fellow youth who also wants to showcase their talents, she advised them to be confident, be their selves and most of all, be the best that they can be.
Cinderella’s two evil stepsisters are not that evil at all. Just like Cinderella, they also deserve the loud applauses because of the justice they brought into playing their respective characters.
