BACOLOD City – The Negros Occidental provincial government’s proposed annual budget for 2017 was raised to P3,154,013,000 from P2,931,912,000.
Of the total amount, P1.187 billion was allocated for the Hospital Operation Department, P71 million for the Economic Enterprise Development Department, and P1.894 million for the General Fund.
The total amount was 9.33-percent (P269,084,000) higher than the P2,884,929,000 budget for this year.
The Sangguniang Panlalawigan targets to approve the budget by the first week of December.
Provincial Board members deliberated on the proposal from Nov. 9 (Wednesday) to 11 (Friday).
“I will immediately draft a committee report and file it on the last week of November,” said Salvador Escalante Jr., chairman of the committee on finance.
According to Escalante, the Board will not go beyond the first week of December.
