Capitol employees to get hazard pay

ILOILO – Employees of the provincial government who reported physically when the province was under the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) and modified ECQ are set to receive hazard pay.

Under Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr.’s Executive Order 617, these employees occupy “regular, contractual or casual positions or those engaged through contract of service, job hire schemes such as Job Order and Job Order Support Services.”

The hazard pay – P300 per day – covers the period from June 1, 2021 to Aug. 15, 2021.

Particular to get hazard pay are the following:

* capitol-based

Regular – 1,400

Contractual – 481

* hospital-based

Regular  – 795

Contractual – 264

According to Atty. Suzette Mamon, acting provincial administrator, the hazard pay could be released this week or next week.

Kon madasig ang office mo sa pag-process (sang requirements) makuha mo dayun. Ara naman ang kwarta, ready na anytime,” said Mamon.

The provincial government has set aside P30 to 40 million for the hazard pay of capitol employees.

According to Mamon, the hazard pay is in line with the Department of Budget and Management’s Circular No. 2020-1 providing the grant of COVID-19 hazard pay to government employees and workers who physically reported for work in areas placed under ECQ “in the amount of not exceeding P500 per day pursuant to Administrative Order Number 26 dated March 20, 2020.”

On the other hand, Defensor said he need not receive his hazard pay.

Indi na kita magbaton. Para lang ‘na sa aton frontliners diri sa capitol,” said Defensor./PN
