BACOLOD City — Capitol Employees are enjoying a twice-to-beat advantage against the winner between APP/Sun.Star and Silay City in Class B men’s division of the 6th Bro. Ceci Hojilla Memorial Volleyball Tournament at the University of Saint La Salle’s (USLS) Dizon Covered Court.
The loser on Saturday will place third in the tournament, while LST Volleyball Club is already on the fourth spot.
On Sunday, Capitol Employees beat Silay City, 25-23, 25-18 and 25-12.
On the other hand, APP/Sun.Star defeated LST Volleyball Club, 26-14, 21-25, 25-21, 22-25, and 15-12.
In Class A men’s, University of Negros Occidental–Recoletos (UNO-R) defeated Carlos Hilado Memorial State College–Talisay, 25-16, 25-9 and 25-23.
The UNO-R win was to recover their loss to University of St. La Salle Team A, 25-19, 21-24, 25-22, and 25-23 in Class A men’s Saturday last week.
In Class B women’s, Silay prevailed over Sabado Club in five sets — 25-17, 19-25, 22-25, 25-21, and 17-15 — earning a twice-to-beat advantage.
Despite the setback, Sabado Club remained a contender for the championship. It will face La Carlota in next Sunday’s rubber match.
In the other matches, La Carlota beat Capitol Employees in four sets, 21-25, 25-6, 25-23, and 25-20.
In Class C girls’, Living Stone International School defeated St. Joseph School–La Salle (SJS-LS), 25-14, 25-21, to strengthen its position.
In Class C boys’, USLS did the same to SJS-LS after three sets, 26-24, 9-25 and 25-23./PN
