BACOLOD City — The provincial government gave out motorboats to fisherfolk in Escalante City.
In a simple ceremony, 10 motorboats were turned over to a fisherfolk association in Barangay Old Poblacion, Escalante City.
Association president Julio Desabelle said each motorboat costs P33, 000 and has complete equipment.
Desabelle said he will distribute the motorboats to each sitio affected by typhoon “Yolanda” last year.
He said the fisherfolk in Escalante were thankful for receiving such assistance from the provincial government./PN
