ROXAS City – Capiz is ready to host this year’s Western Visayas Regional Athletic Association (WVRAA) meet.
Capiz Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Roel Bermejo said the province of Capiz is all set for this year’s week-long regional sports competition set from Feb. 17 to 23.
The WVRAA meet will gather the delegates from the provinces of Aklan, Antique, Iloilo, Guimaras and Negros Occidental as well as delegates from Capiz, which is the host province.
Bermejo said almost all of the delegates from the different provinces in Western Visayas are already here for the competition.
“Department of Education Assistant Secretary and Palarong Pambansa Secretary General Revsee Escobedo will grace the regional event here,” he said.
He added that all the governors in Region 6 and a top official from the Philippine Sports Commission were likewise invited.
Bermejo also thanked the provincial government of Capiz led by Governor Antonio Del Rosario and all other partner agencies for putting in place everything for the regional tilt.
“Our sports facilities, billeting areas, security, medical and emergency plans and other requirements are already in place for WVRAA meet,” he said. (PIA/PN)
