Capiz cops trained on basic tourism

CAPIZ – Personnel of the Capiz Police Provincial Office (CPPO) underwent basic training to become effective tourism frontliners.

The four-day Integrated Tourist Safety and Security Seminar for Tourist-Oriented Police for Community Order and Protection (ITOPCOP) Training at San Antonio Resort, Barangay Baybay, Roxas City wrapped on Thursday, June 1.

The ITOPCOP was initiated by the Department of Tourism Region 6 (DOT-6) in coordination with the Police Regional Office 6.

The training served as avenue for the Capiz police to understand their roles in tourism and in the development of the province.

In his message read by Provincial Administrator Arthur “Ike” Biñas, Capiz Gov. Fredenil Castro expressed his appreciation for the conduct of the training.

Also in attendance were CPPO director Colonel Jerome Afuyog Jr., CPPO DPDA Lieutenant Colonel Necerato Sabando Jr., and DOT-6 officer Artemio P. Ticar. (With reports from Capiz PGCG)/PN
