CAPIZ – From zero in January 2023, active cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in the province surged to 66.

Fourteen additional cases were logged on May 19, based on the COVID-19 Case Bulletin released by the Provincial Health Office.

Data also show that the province is recording an average of six cases daily.

The total active cases comprised 0.48 percent of the province’s 13,787 cumulative cases. Data further show that 13,137 or 95.29 percent of the cases have recovered while 584, or 4.24 percent, died.

As to the healthcare utilization rate, of the 107 ICU (intensive care unit) and non-ICU beds available, 42 beds, or 39.25 percent, are currently in use./PN
