ROXAS City – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) recently funded a P1-million Region 6dairy milk processing facility in Capiz.
David Israel Sinay, DTI Region 6 information officer, said the Capiz State University–Pontevedra Campus is the incorporator of the agency’s project through its shared service facility (SFS).
Sinay said the project would be beneficial to agriculture students.
“They can get workforce from the community. If they wanted to process their dairy products, then they can have access to the facilities,” he said.
The dairy processing facility is DTI’s third SSF project in the province.
Several equipment for the operation of the facility which include mobile milking machines, milk cans, milk pasteurizer, freezer, chiller, infrared tableware stabilizer, milk fat analyzer, and manual sealing machine were turned over to the university last May 21.
Next month, DTI is also gearing to launch a P10-million Innovation Center – the agency’s fourth SSF project in Capiz. (With a report from PNA/PN)
