CAPIZ – Public and private cemeteries here will be closed for five days from Oct. 29 to Nov. 2 in line with the Inter-Agency Task Force’s (IATF) guidelines on the observance of All Saint’s Day and All Soul’s Day while the coronavirus pandemic is raging.
Gov. Esteban Evan Contreras issued Executive Order No. 27-2021 ordering the closure.
To prevent possible infection due to overcrowding, all persons are encouraged to visit their deceased relatives at different dates, stressed Contreras.
The governor also clarified that cemeteries may open on other dates but should accommodate visitors at only 30 percent of their capacity at any given time to ensure that physical distancing is observed.
The EO further prohibits all forms of gambling inside cemeteries as well as drinking liquor and other intoxicating substances./PN
