CAPIZ – Gov. Esteban Evan Contreras requested the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) to prioritize the approval of P79 million as the provincial government’s coronavirus pandemic response fund.
The supplemental appropriation is for various services and facilities of provincial capitol departments, according to Contreras in an Aug. 3 letter to the SP.
“Considering the urgency of the matter, it is hereby requested that the same be acted upon as soon as possible,” he added.
Three hospitals – the Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital, Bailan District Hospital and Mambusao District Hospital – would have allocations for medicines, additional beds, general and professional services, among others.
Capitol offices such as the Provincial Health Office, Provincial Governor’s Office – Equipment Pool Division, Provincial Engineer’s Office – Administrative Division, and the Office of the Governor – Capiz Rehabilitation Center will also have allocations.
As of Aug. 9, 2021, the province of Capiz had 729 active cases.
Recently, the province also recorded two cases of more infectious Delta variant of COVID-19. However, these two cases already recovered./PN
