ROXAS City – Gov. Esteban Evan Contreras got infected with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) for the second time in eight months.
The result of his most recent reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction test (RT-PCR) test was released on April 13.
The governor was asymptomatic.
The first time Contreras tested positive for COVID-19 was last August 2020.
Right after Tuesday’s release of his test result, Contreras went into isolation, according to Provincial Administrator Edwin Monares.
The governor’s scheduled vaccination against COVID-19 yesterday was indefinitely postponed.
Those who came in close contact with Contreras were traced and quarantined.
The Governor’s Mansion where Contreras was residing was also locked down.
