CAPIZ – This province has already administered vaccines against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) to 96.26 percent of its target population.

Data from the Provincial COVID-19 Case Bulletin released by Capiz Epidemiological Surveillance and Response Unit (CESRU) of the Provincial Health Office showed that as of Sept. 8, there are a total of 561,520 Capiznons who were vaccinated.

Of the figure, 90.68 percent or 528,488 individuals are fully vaccinated.

Data also showed that only 12. 85 percent or 74,953 individuals received booster shots.

The province has a target population of 656, 752 to reach herd immunity.

Currently, Capiz has 56 active cases of COVID-19; 12,527 recoveries; and 544 deaths out of 13,127 total cumulative cases as of Sept. 8.

On the other hand, from three digits, the COVID-19 cases in Roxas City are now down to 12 following the recoveries of several cases.

Among those with active cases are Brgy. Bolo with three cases and one case each from barangays II, XI, Adlawan, II, Cagay, Sibaguan, Lonoy, Milibili, Tanque, and Tiza./PN
