ROXAS City – He was found dead hanging inside a nipa hut in the middle of a cornfield in Baranagy Aluyanan, Maayon, Capiz, a police report showed.
The 22-year-old Benjie Baliguat allegedly committed suicide, police said. But the officers have yet to rule out that there was foul play in the death.
It was Baliguat’s uncle, Antonio, who discovered his lifeless body on Monday, police said.
According to Antonio, he was visiting the corn farm when he noticed that someone was inside the hut.
When he went inside, Antonio saw Baliguat hanging from the hut’s ceiling with a rope tied around his neck, added the police.
