CAPIZ – A Capiz resident was shot dead by his own nephew.
Victim Cornelio Estorque, 53, a resident of Barangay Maindang, Cuartero was allegedly inebriated when he headed to the suspect’s house in the town’s Barangay Agcabugao on Monday, Feb. 5.
A heated argument then ensued between Estorque and his nephew, Rafael Contreras.
According to the Cuartero municipal police, the victim was leaving Contreas’ house and was about to ride his motorcycle when he was suddenly shot three times.
The victim was rushed to the nearest hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
Police Executive Master Sergeant Reneta Abraham said the suspect initially fled but is now detained at the Cuartero police station after he surrendered./PN
