CAPIZ – The Provincial Health Office (PHO) of Capiz was honored as a Hall of Fame awardee at the 2024 Population and Development Awards of the Commission on Population and Development (CPD) held at SMX Convention Center in Bacolod City.
CPD Region 6 cited the Population Management Section of the Capiz PHO for its exemplary performance in the localization of Population and Development (PopDev) strategies and for having been recognized as a Most Outstanding Local Population Office in Western Visayas for three consecutive years (2022-2024).
Mary Grace Somil, Population Program Officer III/Population Management System Section head, personally received the award in behalf of Provincial Health Officer II Dr. Alex Nolasco from
CPD Region 6 director Harold Alfred Marshall, last week.
Nolasco said the recognition is a testament of the PHO’s efforts in implementing various programs for the benefit of the Capiznons.
Moreover, the PHO’s Population Management Section received a plaque or recognition for ranking first (Provincial/HUC Category) in Adolescents Reached for Strategic Action No. 2: Advance Adolescent Health and Development (AHD) with 640 percent accomplishment and for ranking first (Provincial/HUC Category) in Demand Generation Activities for Strategic Action No. 1 Promote Responsible Parenthood and Family Planning (RPFP) with 682 percent accomplishment, in 2024./PN
