CAPIZ – The Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) here finally approved the recommendation of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) to place the province under a state of calamity.
The SP held another special session early Tuesday night after suspending the first special session they had on Monday.
Relative to this, the provincial government allotted P10 million calamity fund for affected families.
Based on the data presented by the PDRRMO and PSWDO, there are around 34, 000 families that were affected by the typhoon and each the family will get P300 financial assistance.
In a media interview, Vice Governor Mitang Magbanua explained that the provincial government can only give as much as P300 per family based on the presentation made by Provincial Treasurer’s Office during the special session.
Meanwhile, because of the election period, the distribution of the assistance will be distributed by the Philippine Red Cross./PN
