Capiz provincial sports meet is back

CAPIZ – After two years of hiatus due to the cornoavirus disease 2019 pandemic, the Capiz Provincial Meet is back.

With the theme, “Championing Excellence through Sports,” thousands of athletes, coaches, trainers, and technical officials gathered during the opening program over the weekend.

“Indi lang ini basta sports competition, opurtunidad ini para mapakita kag mapabakud ang pag-ululupod, pag-abyanay kag sportsmanship sa mga nagapasakup nga atleta,” said Mayor Ronnie Dadivas who graced the opening of the sports event.

Roxas City has 197 athletes and coaches.

Leading the event is the Department of Education (DepEd) Roxas City Division under Dr. Roel Bermejo and DepEd Capiz Division under Dr. Miguel Mac Aposin, and also joined by delegation from Capiz Private Schools Association, Incorporated (CAPRISA, Inc.) headed by its president, Very Reverend Msgr. Cyril Villareal.

Other local offcials who joined the opening of the sports event were Vice Gov. James Mitang Magbanua and Board Member Thea Faith Reyes, Sagguniang Panlalawigan chairperson for Committee on Education./PN
