ILOILO City – A 33-year-old rape suspect in Mambusao, Capiz was arrested in Barangay Ticud, La Paz district yesterday.
The man had been in hiding these past five years, according to Police Captain Alcer Monsera, the Mambusao police chief who led the arrest around noon.
The man was charged with rape by his 16-year-old stepdaughter in 2015.
The suspect was served with an arrest warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court, Branch 20 of Capiz. He did not offer resistance.
“After learning that he was charged with rape, he left their house and went to Iloilo City. We have been looking for him for a long time. We recently received information that he was in La Paz,” said Monsera.
