ATHLETES from Capiz dominated the secondary boys and girls athletics competition in the 2018 Western Visayas PRISAA at the Iloilo Sports Complex in Iloilo City.
Sislyn Sese spearheaded the Capisnons with four gold medals in secondary girls 400m, 200m, 100m, and 4x400m relay with Kim Villaruz, Piepet Prebillo and Joanna Basea on Tuesday.
Niel de Felipe also had four gold medals in secondary boys 200m, 400m, 2000m walk, and 4x400m relay with Julius Bernabe, Abeth dela Cruz and Joshua Eslaban.
Bernabe also had two more golds in 400m and 1500m; Jumel Eudela finished with three golds in boys shotput, discus throw, and javelin throw; while Shainne Lou Rosas had golds in secondary girls long jump and triple jump.
Other gold medalists were Kim Villaruz in boys 800m and 1500m, Eslaban (5000m), Dela Cruz (100m), Jayfer Atinado in 3000 steeplechase, and Prebillo in 400m hurdles.
Iloilo, meanwhile, had nine golds from Ailter John Balogo (long jump and triple jump), Dan Angel Demontano (110m hurdles), Leomar Belanres (high jump), Cassandra Hunggo (shot put), Marjorie Basea (3000m), Jackie Sabando (high jump), Jonna Mae Cortel (200m walk), and 4x100m relay team.
Negros Occidental had four golds with Franz Gella Bintad winning two from discus throw and javelin throw, while Godwin Tulio and Ara Delotavo had one each in 400m and 100m hurdles, respectively./PN
