ROXAS City β The Department of Tourism (DOT) Region 6 accreditation team conducted a brief discussion and ocular inspection of Tourism-Oriented Establishments (TOEs) and Tourism-Related Establishments (TREs) in Capiz on Jan. 8.
The Inspection Team headed by tourism operations officer II Artemio Ticar was invited to the Provincial Tourism Officers Meeting held at the New Tourism Information Center and Specialty Shot, Provincial Park, Roxas City. Ticar discussed about DOT Accreditation, process fees, documentary requirements and benefits of being a DOT-accredited establishment.
After the discussion, the team proceeded to inspect establishments in Roxas City and Province of Capiz. These include the Tourism Information and Specialty Shop, El Circulo Travel and Tour, Oriental Restaurant, Altacosta Beach Hotel, Nanay Lording Novelty Shop, Alunsina Hotel, Verdant Farm, Gecalde’s Farm, FHW Dormitel and FHW Spa.
Out of the ten establishments inspected, four have complete documents and payments, while the remaining six are still on process.
“Department of Tourism Region VI strongly encourages Tourism-Oriented Establishments (TOEs) and Tourism-Related Establishments (TREs) not only in Capiz but in the whole Western Visayas to be DOT-accredited. Being a DOT-accredited establishment not only gives assurance to the customers but also brings benefits to the establishment itself. The benefits include being prioritized in DOT Training Programs, technical/security/facilitation assistance and inclusion in the promotional marketing of DOT in the country and abroadβ, DOT-6 regional director Atty.
