ROXAS City – Public transport groups in Capiz province are pressing that inspection fees prior to vehicle registration be lowered.
In a position paper, they also appealed for a less rigorous inspection, or a considerable number of public utility vehicles won’t be able to pass and renew their registrations.
The position paper was submitted to Land Transportation Office (L TO) Region 6 director Eric Lenard Tabaldo who attended the third committee hearing on the motor vehicle inspection requirement called by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) of Capiz Friday last week.
Tabaldo told the SP that LTO-6 would be endorsing the position paper to higher LTO officials.
The SP of Capiz earlier passed two resolutions appealing to LTO to defer the implementation of a new policy that requires all motor vehicles to pass an inspection through accredited private motor vehicle inspection centers (PMVIC) prior the renewal of registration.
The first authorized PMVIC in Panay Island, Panay Motors Vehicle Inspection Center, is located in Roxas City. It is already operating./PN
