MANILA – Capiznon guard Dan Arches is not going anywhere after committing to play for the Mapua University Cardinals in NCAA Season 95 men’s seniors basketball later this year.
The Roxas City, Capiz native said he already informed newly-appointed Cardinals head coach Randy Alcantara of his decision to stay put at Mapua for his collegiate career.
“Nag-usap po kami ni coach and sabi ko po sa kanyang stay na ako rito,” Arches said in an interview with ABS CBN Sports.
The 6-foot-1 Arches was one of the key players of the Mapua Red Robins in their championship run during the NCAA Season 94 juniors basketball last year.
Arches averaged 17.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 1.3 steals in the entire season. He also played a key role in the playoffs for the Red Robins following the injury of Clint Escamis.
The 19-year-old Arches will be an added boost to the Cardinals guard rotation that also includes Escamis, Eric Jabel, Noah Lugo, and Laurenz Victoria./PN
