Capiztahan 2025: A Celebration of Culture, Music and Heritage is Back!

With a full lineup of engaging events and grand spectacles, Capiztahan 2025 is shaping up to be a special experience again that will bring together locals and visitors in a celebration of Capiz’s rich culture, history, and unity.

As an annual celebration led by the Provincial Government of Capiz through the Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office, Capiztahan 2025 will continue to showcase the province’s enduring heritage and festive spirit.

To signal its beginning, an opening program will be held on April 1, featuring the traditional raising of the Philippine flag, along with the banners of the province, city, and the 16 municipalities, in front of the Provincial Capitol in Roxas City.

Celebrities will flock to the province for the crowd-favorite, “sTREAT Party”. On April 1, 4, and 6, the Provincial Capitol of Roxas City and Pueblo de Panay Techno Park will come alive with astounding performances. Philippines Pop Rock Royalty, Yeng Constantino, will kick off the festivities with her return on April 1, energizing the crowd with her signature hits. On April 4, the stage will heat up with performances by OPM band Orange & Lemons, famous for their indie-pop sound and nostalgic hits, alongside rappers Nik Makino and Shao Lin, best known for their viral hip-hop tracks. The excitement continues on April 5 with Kapuso Night, featuring a lineup of Kapuso celebrities bringing star power to the province. Wrapping up the celebration on April 6 is a special appearance by actress and social media sensation Ivana Alawi, followed by powerhouse performers KZ Tandingan, the Soul Supreme known for her unique vocal style, and singer-songwriter TJ Monterde, capping off the event with a night of heartfelt and soulful music.

One of the much-awaited events is the Hangaway kag Lin-ay sang Capiz Grand Coronation Night on April 3 at 7 p.m., where the candidates from 14 municipalities and Roxas City will compete for the prestigious titles.

The celebration continues with the unveiling of the Cong. Dinggoy Roxas Monument at Roxas City Plaza on April 4 at 9 a.m., a significant tribute to a well-respected leader of the province.

As part of the provincial government’s commitment to preserving and promoting cultural heritage, the province will stage the Maragtas sang Capisnon Historical Parade and Dance Drama on April 5, bringing to life the rich history of Capiz through visually stunning performances. Simultaneous to these is the positive assertion of the province being the Seafood Capital of the Philippines – the “Surambaw” – happening at 7 p.m. at the Capiz Gymnasium, Villareal Stadium, where towering seafood will flood the table for this buffet, serving guests and locals alike.

As the grand finale for the night, the PYROMUSICAL SHOW: A FIREWORKS SYMPHONY IN HARMONY will color the skies at 9 p.m. at Pueblo de Panay Techno Park, delivering a mesmerizing fusion of lights and music that will leave spectators in awe.

Capiztahan 2025 will culminate on April 15 with the commemoration of the 124th Founding Anniversary of the Civil Government, marking a significant milestone in the history of the province. As part of this historic event, a wreath-laying ceremony will be held at 10:30 a.m. in honor of the 77th death anniversary of President Manuel A. Roxas, paying tribute to the legacy of one of Capiz’s most distinguished leaders.

Capiztahan does not only bring excitement and festivity but also strengthens the deep-rooted pride and unity among Capisnons. Cultural showcases and historical tributes reflect the province’s vibrant identity and commitment to preserving its rich heritage. More than just a celebration, Capiztahan serves as a reminder of the province’s past, a showcase of its present, and an inspiration for its future.
