CAPIZ – A senior citizen died in a road incident in Barangay Tugas, Mambusao, Capiz.
The 61-year-old Francisco Villarreal, a resident of the barangay, attempted to cross the road on Saturday night, Jan. 27, when he was hit by a pickup driven by 43-year-old Allen Velado, a resident of Barangay Jaina Norte, Jamindan, Capiz.
The victim was immediately taken to the Mambusao District Hospital for medical treatment but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
Meanwhile, the driver voluntarily surrendered to the authorities and is currently in the custody of the Mambusao Municipal Police Station for proper disposition./PN
