Cargo truck torched

BACOLOD City – Five unidentified men set a cargo truck on fire in Barangay Magallon Cadre, Moises Padilla, Negros Occidental, a police report showed.

It happened around 8 a.m. on Thursday, farm caretaker Ignacio Ogatis told the police.

Von Vinco of Hinigaran, Negros Occidental owns the six-wheeler cargo truck with plate number FWL-360, police said.

The truck contains fertilizers, added the police. The total lost from the fire was estimated at P800,000.

According to witnesses, the armed men fired at the truck’s fuel tank. They then burned the truck.

The suspects then fled toward Barangay Manghanoy, Moises Padilla.

Recovered from the crime scene was a slug of a .45-caliber gun and another slug of a .9mm pistol, police said./PN
