PRIORITIES have shifted for Carlo Aquino after his girlfriend Trina Candaza gave birth to their first child last week.
In an interview with ABS-CBN on Tuesday, Aquino said he now takes into consideration his partner and baby daughter Enola Mithi in all the decisions that he makes because he is already a family man
“Sobrang sarap sa pakiramdam na hindi na ‘yung sarili mo ‘yung priority kung ‘di ‘yung mag-ina mo na, ‘yung family mo. Ang sarap na nagtratrabaho ka para sa kanila. Kasi ito, future ng anak ko ‘yung nakasalalay ‘di ba? Siyempre gusto mo maging stable, maging maayos kung saan siya mag-aaral, ‘yung mga ganung bagay,” he said.
Aquino also opened up about Candaza’s whole pregnancy journey.
“Nag-check-up kami bago ‘yung quarantine siguro mga twice lang. Good thing lang kasi ‘yung brother-in-law ko may medical supplies so nakakuha kami ng pang-BP, nakakuha kami ng doppler. So self-check kami. Mine-message message namin ‘yung OB namin. Tapos may mga small OB clinics, para lang ma-check ‘yung ultrasound na mabilis lang, pwede ka magpa-schedule,” he said.
The actor said they did not consciously keep the pregnancy a secret.
“Hindi naman namin tinago. Hindi lang namin na-post. Pero kasi kapag lumalabas kami, although naka-mask, may mga nakakakilala pa rin sa akin… May mga nagpapa-picture. Eh kasama ko si Trina. Alangan naman [itago ko siya]?” he said.
Aquino said he also did not do a lot of thinking before he posted a picture of their baby.
“Little angel ‘yun eh. Blessing ‘yun. Bakit mo itatago ang ganyan kalaking blessing at happiness sa buhay mo? Hindi rin naman ako nagpo-post para sa ibang tao. Nagpo-post ako kasi gusto ko, gusto namin ni Tina i-share ‘yung happiness,” he said.
Although he gets less sleep now looking after Enola Mithi, Aquino said he wants to spend every second with his daughter before he goes back to work in a few weeks.
For now, Aquino said he and Candaza’s priority is to be the best parents and their wedding will come after.(ABS-CBN)
