Carnapping suspects collared

ILOILO – Two fugitives in Iloilo City and Capiz province were served with arrest warrants by the police for violations of Republic Act 10883, or the New Anti-Carnapping Act of 2016, on Tuesday, Jan. 30.

Iloilo City’s No. 8 most wanted person, identified by the alias “Gilgar,” was apprehended by elements of Police Station 3 at 3:31 p.m. in Barangay Ungka, Jaro district.

Gilgar was taken into custody through an arrest warrant by Hon. Nestle Amparo Go, Presiding Judge of the Regional Trial Court 6 (RTC-6), Branch 24, in Iloilo City, dated Jan. 9, 2024.

Meanwhile, Capiz’s No. 7 most wanted person, identified by the alias “Laurel,” was nabbed by the Roxas City Police Station Tracker Team and the Capiz Provincial Highway Patrol Team.

The arrest unfolded at 8:43 a.m. in Sitio Paon, Barangay Dumolog, Roxas City.

His arrest was carried out according to a warrant of arrest by Hon. Kristine B. Tiangco-Vinculado, Presiding Judge of the RTC-6, Branch 16 in Roxas City, dated Jan. 25, 2024.

Both of the apprehended persons’ bail for their temporary liberty was set at P300,000 each./PN
