SIX years after winning the Miss Universe crown, Catriona Gray continues to use her platform for good.
The Philippines’ fourth Miss Universe titleholder recently held the Legacy Ball, which raised funds for Young Focus, a non-government organization that aims to provide education to kids.
And as expected, she made sure to bring her fashion A-game to the occasion. Impressing her friends and fans, she showed up at the Legacy Ball wearing a gown featuring the handwritten dreams of her beneficiaries.
She tapped Dee Javier, who has previously made “letter-themed” creations, to bring her vision to life.
“Every child deserves to have the opportunity to dream and to have access to the resources that equip them to pursue it,” Gray said in an Instagram post.
“I had the idea to wear a dress with the written dreams of the children of Young Focus,” she added. “I immediately remembered seeing Dee Javier’s tear-stained love letter designs… Am so thrilled that [Javier] said yes and so beautifully executed the idea. I feel there would be no better way to step into the Legacy Gala.”
Gray’s friends and social followers praised the former beauty queen for continuing her advocacies, with many of them declaring that she is the “best Miss Universe ever.”
Others, meanwhile, commended her creativity, which the public first saw a glimpse of through her themed gowns and outfits during her Miss Universe stint.
“Such a purposeful queen,” one fan commented. (ABS-CBN News)
