Cauayan man nabbed for ‘illegal fishing’

BACOLOD City – For alleged illegal fishing, a resident of Barangay Guiljungan, Cauayan, Negros Occidental was nabbed.

The 30-year-old Elvis Arroz was caught around 1 p.m. on Sept. 24, a police report showed.

Arroz was nabbed after local authorities chanced upon him fishing in marine protected area without permit.

The suspect faces a fine of P1,000 for violating Municipal Ordinance 153.

He was placed under the custody of the Cauayan Bantay Dagat./PN
