BACOLOD City – Mayor John Rey Tabujara of Cauayan, Negros Occidental vowed action against one of the social media administrators assigned at the Municipal Health Office after the latter allegedly made rude remarks to an inquiring individual via Facebook Messenger.
Tabujara apologized not only to the involved client but also to all residents of this city.
“Rest assured today, we will take action over this complaint,” Tabujara said in an almost three-minute long video posted on social media on Tuesday.
Tabujara admitted the social media administrator did reply back in a “discriminating manner” to one of their clients.
He said the involved admin was “tired” at the time of the incident, although he pointed out the admin’s explanation was still unacceptable.
The town mayor also reached out to the family of the involved client in order to make sure that the incident will not happen again.
Tabujara said he is set to meet with officials from the MHO to discuss the issue.
In a social media post, Enkei James Perono Salvacion bared a screenshot showing the local health office supposedly dissing a resident who asked where he could get a special pass to travel back and forth between Cauayan and Bacolod City.
The Cauayan MHO already issued a statement apologizing for the unprofessional handling of the query.
“We apologize sincerely to the public, and will take action on the mistake done,” the post stated./PN
