BACOLOD City – The bidding for the construction of a new public market in Cauayan, Negros Occidental was tentatively set next month.
Mayor John Rey Tabujara said they were still waiting an opinion from the Monetary Board of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas regarding the municipal government’s P67-million loan application at the Development Bank of the Philippines.
The Monetary Board is expected to issue its opinion on Sept. 13, said Tabujara.
The tentative schedule of the bidding, meanwhile, is Oct. 14 or 15.
The new public market will be built on a lot near the bridge of Barangay Poblacion.
The old public market, also located in the Poblacion, won’t be destroyed.
It will be renovated as some investor expressed interest to rent it, the mayor said./PN
