BACOLOD City – A 32-year-old man from Barangay Guiljungan, Cauayan, Negros Occidental is missing.
Peter Neil Perarin had not been seen since the evening of Oct. 28 when the boat he was in capsized at the Guiljungan River, police said.
Cauayan police investigation revealed that around 3 p.m., Perarin, owner of the boat, approached Benjie Panes, also a resident of the said place, to go fishing.
As they were returning home from fishing at around 8:30 p.m. on the same date, their boat that was approaching the riverbank was suddenly hit by waves.
Police said Panes managed to swim to Sitio Kinalipay in the said barangay while the victim went missing.
As of writing, search and rescue operation was ongoing for Perarin./PN
