BACOLOD City – Negros Occidental governor Eugenio Jose Lacson remains cautious and has opted to limit flights originating from Metro Manila.
Even though the National Capital Region (NCR) has already slipped to Alert Level 2, data from the Department of Health (DOH) showed its coronavirus disease 2019 (COV ID-19) positivity rate remains above 20 percent, he said.
The standard positivity rate should be five percent set by the World Health Organization.
“NCR’s positivity rate is still very high,” said Lacson.
Passenger flights to the Bacolod-Silay Airport will remain at two per airline per day.
However, Lacson said airlines are free to avail themselves of one inbound cargo flight and one additional outbound flight per day.
Flights between Bacolod and Cebu, meanwhile, remain at one per week.
Lacson said he will only allow more additional flights once it is confirmed that the positivity rate in the NCR has gone down dramatically./PN
