BACOLOD City – The Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) will conduct a mentoring and coaching session workshop for performing arts companies and stakeholders on July 9 in this capital city.
The event aims to prime and equip selected local performing arts companies in preparation for the first Manila International Performing Arts Market (MIPAM) on September 19 to 21 at the CCP Complex in Manila. CCP partnered with the Negros Cultural Foundation, Performance Laboratory Inc. and Teatrokon West Visayas Theater Network to stage the activity.
As CCP celebrates its 50th anniversary on September, MIPAM will serve as a venue for international performing groups, primary international performing festival organizers and promoters, producers, agents, and impresarios that will meet and engage in business opportunities and arts Promotion.
The event dubbed “MIPAM x CREATE PH” will be in cooperation with Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions, the export promotion arm of the Philippine Department of Trade and Industry.
“MIPAM x CREATE PH” will also be the global platform for performances and business-to-business exchange to the Federation for Asian Cultural Promoters and the Association of Asia Pacific
Performing Arts Centre which the CCP will be hosting from September 18 to 23.
Tanya Lopez, Negros Museum director, said it is important for artists, cultural workers and art managers to take part in these endeavors to further cultivate creativity among the locals.
The MIPAM workshop accepts participants for free on July 9 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (With a report from Negros Museum/PN)
